Time for some Mondo Croquet!

Sunday’s game will be played as a celebration of the life of Dr. Steven Fritz who was killed in a car accident on the 24th.

In fact, we’ve been requested to play as part of his memorial service, which officially starts at 5pm.

  • When: Sunday, September 28th, 4 pm
  • Where: The west side of Terry Schrunk Plaza, SW 4th ave between Madison and Jefferson

Bring a bowling ball and a sledgehammer if you have them.  If you don’t have, don’t worry.  I’ve got plenty of extra.

Dr. Fritz, you will be missed.

Steven Fritz

Mondo Croquet at Summer Lake Hot Springs

Let’s just say…

Sure, Burning Man is fun, but what if you want to go out to the desert and relax?  That’s where Summer Lake Hot Springs comes in.  It’s about half-way from Portland to Gerlach.  It’s inexpensive to stay, read some books, sit in the hot water and goof off.  And many people on their way to or from Burning Man stop here for a rest.  So, held some Mondo Croquet games.

Fun!

And a Fine Time Was Had By All…

16 Years of Mondo Croquet…

This was the first year the park officials noticed us.  They strongly suggested that next year we obtain a permit.  Hey, it’s only $1,000 to have them review the permit application!  Sure, we’ll get right on that.

We had plenty of fun anyway.  Two games running concurrently until 6pm.  Jolly Good!

Click here to enjoy the photos.

Click here if you have some you’d like to contribute to our photo archive.

We got a nice write-up on the Portland Sports blog here: http://www.portlandsports.com/rec-sports/16th-annual-mondo-croquet-mad-hatter-picnic/

And another on PDX Pipeline: http://pdxpipeline.com/2013/07/24/portland-mondo-croquet-mad-hatter-picnic-pictures-2/

Stay tuned!  More fun to come!

New Web Site!

Lord Peters

Lord Peters

Ladies and gentlemen, a mere 12-something years after launching the first web site for Mondo Croquet, I have launched a brand new site!

Huzzah!

Here you will find photos going back to 1997, the very first year we played, the occasional video, instructions and hopefully other helpful items.

It is true that am involved with building web sites for a living.  However, I am not a designer.  Normally I shape other people’s hopes and dreams into a series of tasks and milestones that engineers and designers turn into a web site.  Sometime I take a designer’s mockups or a stack of design elements and build the site myself.

In this case, my sole design element is our photo archive which I’ve endeavored to port to this new format.

Feedback?  Suggestions? More photos?  Contact me and let me know.

This new site is just another step on our long journey to taking over the Summer Olympics.  There’s lots of stuff to do here yet.  Stay tuned.

And stay beautiful.

— Your Lord Peters
